Portable Generators Recalled By American Honda

American Honda has issued a voluntary recall of portable generator batteries, working in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Commission (CPSC).

The recall was prompted because the hazard labels on the batteries are printed in Japanese, not English, therefore consumers handling the battery many not be able to properly avoid risk and hazards associated with the batteries.

To this date, there are have been no reports of accident or injury associated with this recall.

Portable generators with model numbers EM4000SX, EM5000SXK3 and EM6500SXK2 are affected by this recall. Below is a list of affected serial numbers:

Consumers will be contacting by American Honda so they can be sent the proper label. Consumers can install the label or contact a Honda dealer to install it for free.
