Choking Hazard Prompts Recall Of Magnetic Maze Boards

Comments Off

Lakeshore Learning Materials, working in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), issued a voluntary recall of Magnetic maze boards. The magnetic boards include a plastic wand that can separate and expose a magnet to children, which poses a choking hazard to young children.

The agency warns, if more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal.

To date, the company has received ten reports of magnets detaching, but no reports of injury.

The recall involves wooden magnetic maze boards. View photos and descriptions of the recalled toys to determine if your child’s toy is affected by the recall. They were sold at Lakeshore Learning Materials stores nationwide and online at their Web site: www.lakeshorelearning.com.

Consumers are advised to take the recalled toy from children and to contact the company for a free replacement. You can fill out a form for a free replacement online.

For more information, call Lakeshore Learning Materials at (800) 428-4414 or visit them online at www.lakeshorelearning.com.
