Britax Recalls Infant Car Seats Due To Safety Hazard

Comments Off

Britax Child Safety Inc., in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), issued a voluntary recall of infant car seats because the harness chest clip can break, posing a safety hazard. Also, due to its small size, it also poses a choking hazard to young children.

To this date, the company has received four reports of the clips breaking, which included reports of three minor injuries. One report involved an infant placing the clip in his mouth.

The recall involves Chaperone infant car seats sold nationwide with the following model numbers:

E9L69N9 (Moonstone)

E9L69P2 (Red Mill)

E9L69P3 (Savannah)

E9L69P5 (Cowmooflage)

This product was also recalled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

In February, Britax issued a voluntary recall, of “Blink” Umbrella Strollers due to the risk of serious injury to a child when the stroller is being folded or unfolded.
