Comments Off

A Former Plant High cheerleader was killed the other day in an early morning car crash around 3:00am, say authorities, when she lost control of her car on U.S. 41 in south Florida.

Mary Taafe, 18, of Tampa was a recent graduate of Plant High in Tampa, Florida and was attending Florida Gulf Coast University when she and a friend were out Friday evening. Police say that Taafe and a friend were driving North on U.S. 41 when Taafe lost control of her car and crashed along the side of the highway into some brush.

Taafe unfortunately was not wearing her seatbelt, and did not survive the crash. Her passenger Erin Reid of Tampa was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the car accident.
